Owner

Teresa Walls, affectionately known as Terry, is the driving force behind ABC Cutting Contractors. She’s been with the company since July 16, 1990, started with bookkeeping, evolved into Paul’s “work wife” and, in 2010, became a company owner. Terry’s commitment shifted from her banking background to a people-centric philosophy, where “employees come first.” Handling purchasing, finances, and billing, she’s a self-taught powerhouse proud of her unexpected strength.

Terry’s journey extends beyond the business realm; she once shadowed Paul in the field, mastering processes and saws. Beyond work, she loves family time with her granddaughter Savannah, and shares her life with her husband of 47 years, Gary. Thriving personally and professionally, Terry Walls embodies resilience, dedication, and a unique blend of hands-on leadership that defines ABC Cutting Contractors.

Vice President

Derek has over 28 years of experience in the concrete and construction industry. He served the company as an operator in the field for many years before transitioning into sales, estimating, and project management in 2016. His last movement within the company was in 2019, when he was promoted to the role of Corporate Operations Officer. He has experience in every aspect of the company and handles many duties. Derek also helps with training the employees across all of the company’s locations. He and his wife, Stacie, who also works for ABC as Corporate Administrator, have been married for 21 years and have two sons.

Andy joined our team fresh out of high school in 1995 as a concrete cutter in the field. After gaining many years of experience in the field, he moved into field sales. In 2018, Andy was offered the dispatcher position at our Central Alabama location. There, he handles duties like scheduling jobs, coordinating technicians and estimates for customers. Andy has over 30 years of experience in the industry, which makes him a valuable asset to our company. Andy and his wife Rebecca have 2 children.

Russell joined our team in early 2018 as a concrete cutter in the field. ABC gained quick appreciation for his 37 years of experience in the concrete cutting industry. Russell was an operator in the field and transitioned to managing a cutting company in Michigan. We quickly offered him the open managing position at our Gulf Coast Division, where he has served since 2018. Russell has vast knowledge of the cutting industry, from cutting and coring, to bridge grooving and grinding across multiple states. In his downtime, he is an avid collector of classic cars and loves spending his time restoring them.

Sales / Estimator

Lee joined our ABC team early on in 1989. He began working on transportation projects including bridge work and surface grinding/grooving. As the company grew, so did Lee’s commitment to client needs. He developed skills with core drilling, hand sawing, track wall sawing and wire sawing. After working in the field for 27 years he entered sales and estimating. He uses his knowledge as an operator to maintain and build relationships with the customers he has worked with for decades. Lee’s field experience makes him a valuable asset to his customers and ABC as he can assist in the planning and execution of projects as well as preparing accurate estimates for projects. He has spent most of his adult life dedicated to the industry and now has two sons following in his footsteps. He loves his family and the company he works for.

In 2014 John joined our team highly experienced in construction and mechanical work. We quickly placed John with our more experienced operators to begin his training in the cutting industry. John quickly advanced and ran cutting, coring and sawing projects independently. John also served us in the shop completing mechanic work, welding, and fabricating. John has been a great asset to our company in many ways. When a management position opened at our Madison location in the fall of 2023, John met the challenge. After training closely with Derek, John has assumed management of North Alabama operations ensuring projects are completed effectively, efficiently and safely.
